Default oil gauge wont read

whats up everyone, not sure if this should be in this section or not as my jeep is very built, but my issue is only regarding my oil gauge wont read? not sure what could be causing this though.. its a 99 with somewhere between 135k-140k. i know its common in the xjs as it happened in my 96 as well, but that one was a beater so i nvr really looked into it. all advice would be appreciated and if this needs to be moved to the modded section my apologies!

oil pressure sender. It's near the oil filter. You can try cleaning the connection on it but it will likely need to be replaced, make sure to get the one for with gauge and not the idiot light.

so i changed the oil pressure sender and my gauge now reads, so lies my next issue, after driving the jeep for say 15-20 min the gauge reads at only about 10. this isnt normal i know that so what else do i need to now look into replacing to fix that? my initial guesses are oil pick up pump not working or maybe even the drive gear is slipping. but before looking into those particular scenarios just want some added opinions/thoughts as to what it could be. thanks every1!

10psi at hot idle? or while driving? What's it hit once you get to 3k rpm?

With that many miles the bearing clearances have probably increased somewhat creating less restriction. Short of rebuilding there is nothing you can do. If the motor runs fine and is not knocking I would not worry about it. oil FLOW is what lubricates a motor, not pressure.

Minimum spec is 13# and the OEM gauge isn't all that accurate. Could screw in a mechanical gauge if you like, just to verify. Plenty of these running around with 10# at hot idle though, with seemingly no ill effects.
What weight oil are you running and just for Cruiser what brand filter?

Running 15w30 and not positive of what brand filter. Idk if this will have any impact but I am do for an oil change in about 500 miles.

I know when I first bought my XJ It would sit at 10psi hot idle and 30-35psi while driving. It did have a fram filter. I changed it out with a Mopar filter and to this day it hangs around 20psi hot idle and just above 40psi while driving. Hard to believe the difference an oil filter makes.
