Oil Gauge Pegged at 3 o'clock and stuck
I think there is a mechanical/electrical fault in the gauge. At 318k miles stuff is starting to wear out. (96 Sport).
Engine started fine yesterday but the oil gauge immediately pegged at 3 o'clock. Did not go back down on engine shut off.
Oil pressure is fine. I drove it enough to destroy the engine if it was not.
Anyone else have this gauge problem happen?
Jeep sat for four months after the tree crush incident in February. Finally got it repaired and back on the road a few weeks ago. No insurance on it yet, but I drove it about six time totaling about 100 miles. Then this gauge issue crops up.
I will be digging one out of a JY donor. I figure a 94 to 96 should work. Do earlier ones swap alike too?
