2000 XJ Sport - Roof Rack Skid Stripes
I am trying to find a replacement for the Roof rack Skid Stripes, there are a total of 4 stripes.
Price on eBay was $51 for each stripe. Item is discontinued, called numerous places - no one carries it.
please advise if anybody found an after market part/ solution
thank you

Should be able to find them there.
Thinking you might only be able to use ones from '00 or '01.
I know the length of the roof rack is longer on '97 and '98. Maybe '99.
So thinking so are the strips.

99,00,01 had shorter roof racks. But the roofs are the same and the strips were shorter than the roof racks on the 97 & 98 so they were all the same 97-01.

I could not remember. Was thinking cause the roof racks were longer on a couple of the earlier years that the strip might have been too.

Old fart with a wrench
They're only anti-skid strips like used on boat decks and aluminum stair steps. Grainger probably has them in a roll. I know for a fact they come in colors, at least black and white. Cut to length, Peel and stick. Screw the $51!
BTW, my 2000 WJ Laredo doesn't have the strips, just raised ribs. Actually it's a 99 sold as a 2000. Built in AUG of 99.

I think mine are 3/4" wide.
It is too dark to measure them now.
But I went into my files and found that I bought 3M 3/4" VHB double sided tape.
Which I am almost positive is what I used to secure the roof skid strips.
When I had my Jeep painted, roof and hood cause of surface rust issues, I removed them for my guy.
Decided to have them Line-X'ed to refresh them before I put them back on.
I think you are measuring the bump in the roof where they go.
The roof skid strips are not as wide as the bump.
Oh and here is a shot of them Line-X'ed.
