Default Eng Temp Gauge Pegged

Hey Guys, I just replaced the lower radiator hose due to a pin hole leak & the CTS. Refilled with 50/50, started the engine and it warmed up beautifully to 210. Then all of a sudden it pegged!! I squeezed the top hose while running and easily collapsed which means very little pressure (I think). No leaks, no whining pully. Stumped because it's not acting like the water pump but then again I could be wrong (have been before). Before I start throwing parts at it wanted to start here. Anyone else have his issue before?

You've got an air pocket in the head. Pull the temp sender and burp it.

If it jumped to full then the sensor wire probably shorted to ground somewhere.

The lower radiator hose isn't that soft is it, that its collapsing also or does it have a spring? Could cause the issue you describe also.
