Actually, it's the "tough guard" you would have to go with. All other frams are junk. Silver can, in this case, but go with something better

Never use Fram. They are crap. I have had two Tough Guard filters fall apart. If you go on YouTube and look up Fram oil filters you will see how crappy they are. Purolator filters are a good filter for a cheap price.
I like to use a blend. I use two synthetic quarts and three regular of the same weight and brand. Synthetic is hard on timing chains. It does not cling to the gears and chain when the spin which wears them out quicker. Dino oil clings like syrup to the gears and chains. So you get the best of both worlds when you use a blend.
I used to work at a Porsche shop and the engines we rebuilt would have the cam chains and gears all worn out from the full synthetic oil. The Dino oil engines we could reuse the timing chains and gears but couldn't on the full Synthetic run cars. They would be worn out pretty bad. So we always recommended blending.

Currently, Im a big fan of Castrol GTX High Mileage 10w-30 and 10w-40 oil for any year Cherokee, 4.0 Inline Six or 2.5 Four Banger. The High Mileage Oils have the Higher levels of Zinc/Phospherous our flat tappet motors like.

I'm with slick on this one. Use 5W-30 in the winter, 10W-30 in the summer. I use Wix filters, as they're six bucks at O'Reilly's here. As for oil type, stick with synthetic. As for brand, go with whatever you want. I will use Mobil 1 full synthetic from here on out. It's $26/5 qts. at wally world.
I also run Mobil 1 Full synth 5-w30 grade oil, and my jeep has never run better. After the first change you drain out all the synthetic and see all the crap and gunk it's cleaned out. It's wonderful! I run a Puralator filter with that. Gives me the oil pressure I like.
