Changed my oil today, put the wix 51182 on and it idles smoother and my oil pressure didnt drop or increse but it smoothed out doesnt bounce around like it used to, sits about 55 to 60 driving, about 45 to 50 at idle, so far I like it

What brand of oil filter did you remove from the Jeep?

I would agree that bumping up the bypass pressure is a BAD idea. Upping the filter medium area is good, but the only reason the bypass is there is to allow oil to still flow in the case the filter gets too clogged to flow any oil. It doesn't bypass oil on a regular basis (why even have a filter in that case!?) If you build up a 9 or 10 psi pressure drop ACROSS THE FILTER you've got WAY bigger issues. The FSM states that min oil pressure at idle is 13 psi so while many people are above this your oil will thin out as it gets hot and the pressure will drop. Besides you don't always want to trust your dash gauge. Mine never dropped below 40 psi ever when I got my jeep, but I'm actually running around 20 psi at idle when checked with a mechanical gauge. You put a 20 psi bypass filter and it gets plugged, guess what, you might not be flowing any oil to your engine.
