What is really important is that our filters are mounted upside down or sideways. A poorly designed or absent anti-drainback valve in a less expensive filter means we start out Jeeps with a huge "air gap" in the oiling system.

Funny. To each his own. I'm not using those crappy filters to save a buck.

Simple math for me . If an extra dollar can save me potentially hundreds of dollars or thousands depending on the engine and the destruction ... it’s cheap insurance for money I’d much rather have going into my retirement funds .... but I also don’t watch QVC or buy all those as seen on tv products either ... im sure they’re great too !

Yes, PH16 does have the anti-drainback feature.

Haha I love how all oil / filter threads turn into threads like this one. Never fails. You guys feel free to run whatever filter you want on your engine. I mean, its not me who will be paying for the repair.

I dont believe everything I read on the internet so no links will be posted by me. My info comes from actual experience of tearing down 1000s of engines that had failures and having to figure out why they failed. Again, this is being posted on the internet so its probably not true. All I know is that when a $50k engine leaves our shop, it doesnt have a Fram (or other cheap filter) on it for a reason.

I usually run a federated pg1a. Its the same as the NAPA filter but I can get them from work for like $1.50.
