See post #6 for the part number. Google it and you'll find them all over the place for $6.

Went to the JY today. The HO nipple will come off with a 1" socket, not deep.

The Renix nipple can be removed with a 7/8" deep socket.

I find it curiously ironic that although the RENIX adapter is 1mm larger in diameter than the HO, it takes a smaller socket.

You do? How do you think I felt when I found out the HO wasn't 7/8?

I dutifully went through my stuff. Found a Renix OFA. Made sure an HO filter wouldn't go on it. Found out it was 7/8 at the nipple base. Took a 7/8 deep socket from my toolbox at home. Find an HO in the JY. Remove the oil filter with my hands. THEN, I find out it's 1"!! Borrowed a socket from someone else. Phew!!

I don't know. I just swap nipples and forge ahead.

Cruiser, Did you ever think about writing up a book on Jeep "stuff"?
I think you'd do better than the other so called manuals/books..
Or even a cd or dvd.

Now back to the thread. Can both of these be adapted to the 4cyl?
It's a toss up for me to just use a 'universal' cooler/filter adapter and plumb it to the fender or just do a swap like what you guys are saying, but use the WIX 51515
Just trying to get more oil circulating/cooling capacity, and run a long cooler in the bumper.

Thanks again.E
