6000 KM, but I just replaced my fuel injectors this last oil change, so dunno how it looks yet. By the time I drained that oil it was pretty thin and rank. Might've had a leak, one of the bodies was cracked. Often my XJ only gets up to operating temp halfway to work...

Ended up buying 2 gallons of Rotella T5 synthetic blend in the 10w30 I think it was. It and the T6 said they were both compatible to 15w40 conventional oil on the back of the jug. I'm picking up a WIX 51515 filter tomorrow with a Felpro oil pan gasket

Okay scratch that. Now that I see the page on my PC I can see that he mentions a few engines, I see Ford 5.0 in there. Also note those are some of the same filters as our wonderful IH V8. Really the 4.0L can be grouped with a number of other engines in terms of filtration requirements.
It's the same guy as http://www.minimopar.net/oilfilters/index.html (Knize)

Although I find dissecting an oil filter interesting, it really shouldn't be used to say that one filter is better than the other. The best testing would be to have oil run through them with wear particles and see if the particles are removed. Then test to see what happens when the filter gets plugged etc.
There are tests that do just that. If I'm changing an oil filter every xx number of miles, going back and forth to work, do I need one that is used by a NASCAR team? I really just want the filter to do it's job for as long as it's supposed to. If it's made out of spider silk or old newspaper, it's really irrelevant unless you can predict it's performance from that.
Just my $0.02 (Canadian).

Actually no, and it's a very bad idea. Check out the link I posted on the previous page to IH Parts America forum. WIX reveals that "Racing" versions of filters are designed for ultra high flow and really do not filter the oil very well at all, and should not be used for any application outside of racing.
You know damn well the penny was eliminated lol. Suddenly our opinions are worth 5 cents!
