Default offroad lights, where should i put them?

http://www.walmart.com/search/search...d&_tt=off-road

^ Link to the lights i was thinking about getting. They are super easy to setup, and come with a 3 year warranty. and only 43$.

trying to figure out where to put them. i cant afford a brush guard. i have the stock roof rack and would like them up top. because i want to put cool covers over them. they are 6" covers tho. will that work on 5" lights like these?

cool dude those are nice. i was thinking more the roof area where i could mount them there, but those are really nice. I was wondering if my stock roof rack starts too far back or if they would look cool up there...

would it look bad if i drilled holes in my stock roofrack x-bar and mount them there? i could make it look clean, but just wondering if the location that far back on the jeep is bad. thanks

depends on what you wheel. I wheel a lot of woods so i had mine on my front bumper behind the stinger to keep from getting hit. On the roof trees would snag them. Its a personal preference really. they can go just about anywhere. I even had a few on the bottom of my hitch lol

I got these ones for the rack I built take a look at my profile I have an album of when I was building it and the light bar I made for it. The guy that sold me these gave me an option for the wiring kit or 6 100 watt bulbs. I took the bulbs! seeing as if u put 100 watt bulbs in you have to upgrade the wiring any ways

What I would do is buy 2 gutter mounts (as long as your not going to build a rack) a long piece of steel to match the width of them mounts and weld it together and drill your holes in the top

I didnt use the hardware it came with which were long stainless bolts that go all the way through and fancy caps... I went and got fat stainless self tapping screws to only go through the outside sheetmetal... Plenty strong... Also i put o rings around the screw behind the bracket to stop water instead of rtv or weather stripping since they can be troublesome... The head of the screws tighten so tight if water does get under them itll be so little itll never make a difference...

I just don't like the look of lights there on xj's (or mj's!) I that they look better on bush bars or on the roof *shrugs* that's just me! I think it would annoy me while driving!

Never thought of that lol!! I have to figure out what I'm doing with my bush bars I just got some front bumper tow hooks I have to install and I'm calling a guy about a winch it was random I rolled up beside a guy yesterday and he asked me if I wanted a winch lol!!! but yeah, slice and dice for the bush bars and my poor stock bumper lol!! Have you noticed how a.d.d I am about building my jeep??? Lol!!!! But any ways, this thread may come in handy for figuring out where the lights on my bush bars are gonna go next!
