Default OEM Style Aftermarket Bumper End Cap Replacements

Here's the situation, I basically need new bumper end caps for every end of my front and rear bumper. They've got some damage to them and it's annoying me being the perfectionist I am.

I see on eBay (and everywhere else) you can buy OEM style bumper cap replacements for around $40 an end (sometimes cheaper), brand new. The only catch is while they are OEM style they aren't made by the original manufacturer.

In previous experience with past cars (namely VWs) I remember purchasing OEM style bumper replacements and while they did fit the fitment quality was sub-par. Things didn't line up, they sagged in places, and you could tell that the mold they used to make the parts wasn't the greatest.

My question now is this: Has anyone on here ever purchased any of these aftermarket OEM style bumper end cap replacements to replace their stock worn ones? If so, how was the quality and would you say they fit just like stock?

Where did you get yours from? Just one of the many vendors on eBay?

Well, they're on eBay for one. And second of all most of them say 'OEM' style.

I am sure I could find some OEM ones brand new but they'd cost an arm and a leg.

Would you buy an iPhone "style" device made by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd.?

I'd be willing to give the ones on RockAuto a spin.

Indeed you can find "OEM Mopar" ones at http://oem.factorymoparparts.com/parts-catalog and they're QUITE expensive

Good point, I'd completely forgotten about Rock Auto! I'll check those ones out.

As for eBay... Anytime I see 'location: Hong Kong' I immediately exit the page. As hard as it is these days I refuse to knowingly install anything on my Jeep that was made in China.

Just placed an order with RockAuto.com for the rear end caps. Oddly enough I couldn't find the front bumper end caps on their site unless I'm missing something?

Either way, it says made in the USA so when I get them we'll see how well they fit!

Ive got some front caps from my 98 sitting in the garage. They're black. I pulled them off about a year ago.

No fronts? When I went looking for my '99 I got front and rear caps in the same category

My point is that Hon Hai Precision Co Ltd (Taipei, Taiwan HQ) is better known as Foxconn, the actual OEM contracted by Apple to manufacture the iPhone.

Hope they work out for you!

I can always call them if I need to and see if I'm just overlooking them by chance.

I didn't realize they were Foxconn, go figure.
