Is it a tiny round red push button? I have accasionally seen those on cars. It was a security thing where you had to push the button while turning the key so it would crank. Either way Im betting its not oem so I would just forget about it or trace the wires and remove it.

get a black sharpe color it then it wont be red any more

does your Jeep have a red light in the grill that goes back and forth? maybe it engages the "super pursuit" mode.
