O2 Sensor or EGR Valve?
Okay so I got the oh-so-wonderful check engine light the other day and hoped it wasn't too serious. I checked all my fluids and such and everything was fine so I unplugged the battery and reset my computer. The check engine light came back on, so I decided to pull into Autozone to get them to pull the codes for me (still saving up for a code reader). The trouble code came out as my O2 sensor or a fuel ingector and I know it's not my fj cause i'd feel it lol. My problem is, if the problem was my valve and not my sensor, would it have put out a different code, or is it just sensing that the O2 sensor isn't getting enough oxygen?? Basically how can I make sure that it's not my EGR valve???

1. There is no EGR valve on a 99.
2. With OBD codes, it is absolutely critical that you post the EXACT code(s) here. With anything less, it's pure guesswork. With OBD, the devil is in the details, and the troubleshooting process must start with the exact code.

Here's a thought, and I know it's out in left field, but has anyone ever thought of getting the exact code numbers? Would that be helpful in the least bit?
