Yes you do get what you pay for. That's why I recommended NTK off rockauto.com because that is what our jeeps came with from the factory. A bad o2 could definitely cause it to surge and bog down. I had a CEL once that I had cleared and it ended up coming back on after the first half mile of driving so it really depends

Im have the same problem I put a new muffler and cat (flowmaster 40), was driving home the check engine light came on, then xj started to back fire almost like it was starting to turn off with also of smoke, I took it autonzone no they have me this reading
