I'm looking to buy a Slipyoke and CV for my 97 XJ. I want to buy this prior to getting the lift so when I decide what lift I want to get, I already have the SYE. Does this sound like a good deal and has anyone ever heard of this brand? I'm new to this so I hope someone can give me good advice. Thanks everyone!

That shaft isn't made to use with a SYE. It is just like the factory but with a dual cardon joint (aka CV) and a longer slip yoke for the t-case. For that price I could have a custom shaft made at a local driveline shop.

with a little research you might find that you can buy parts to make a home brew SYE and use a stock front driveshaft. Could end up being a lot cheaper in the long run. And if your lift is 3.5 or under I'd wait until after the lift cause you might not need it at all.

From what I've read you need a "special" output yoke to use the front driveshaft- the hack and tap just gives you a flange, which the driveshaft won't bolt to. Try a google for go-jeep's website and look up SYE. He's got a pretty thorogh write up there.
