The Cherokee has a couple transfer case options, most commonly either the NP231 Command-Trac or NP242 Selec-Trac. The easiest way to determine which you have is to look at your transfer case gear selector. The Command-Trac (NP231) has the following shift pattern: 2H-4H-N-4L. The Selec-Trac (NP242) has 2WD-4part-time-4fulltime-N-4Lo. Or you could hop underneath your rig and try to find the stamping on the case itself.

The kit you linked does include the TC drop kit. It's both typed on the page and shown in the pictures.

No, you will still be able to purchase that lift. You just can't use their SYE kit because it's designed for the NP231.

It sounds like you might be a little confused. The slip-yoke eliminator (SYE) does not come with that kit, though it is recommended. Instead, they give you a transfer case drop kit.

Both the SYE and TC drop kit are used to reduce drive line angles/vibration after lifting a vehicle. You typically have one or the other.

The particular kit you linked from RC comes with the TC drop kit so you don't NEED the SYE right now. Though the SYE is a superior solution over a TC drop kit..... but that is beyond the scope of this reply/thread.

Just order it up
