NP 231 swap
I have n 1985 Cherokee Chief and the front axle was change from the 2 piece shaft on the passenger side with vacuum to engage it, to a 1 piece on the passenger side. I have an NP 231 to put into it, because the old TC went bad. Will the NP231 work okay with the front axle having been changed, or will it not because of the axle not having the vacuum engage/disengage? It has the stock open diff with 31's. I'm pretty sure the 231 was used in later model XJ's and YJ's that didn't have the vacuum disconnect.
