First of all I'd like make it clear that I have a strong knowledge base of XJ's and hope that in the future Ill be able to put that knowledge to use to help others here.
I recently purchased a 93 Country AW4/231 equiped XJ. The TC was junked so I swapped my 242 off of my 91 into it. I didn't change my TC shifter or linkage during the swap and retained the the ones from the 231. The Jeep runs good but will only go into 2hi, 4wd part-time, and 4lo. Can the original 231 linkage be adjusted to get my 242 into full-time 4wd? I've never encountered this as I've never owned a 231 equiped XJ and have never had a 242 fail on me. Seen plenty of 231 failures though, lol. TIA for any help.

 

Look and see if there is a rod with a lock bolt on it,my 242 has it and I have seen it on 231s also.

 

So this is the adjustment point of the linkage? Thanks for the input. Like I said, with all I know of these vehicles I've never had to mess with the TC's. I just know I want my full-time to work!
