i dont think it is in 4wheel. i have it in the 2 wheel location. i drove up and down my block twice in reverse. and drove about 12 miles from where i tested it in 4whl. while i was on loose sand i floored it a couple times and only the rear whls spun in both for and revs. nxt is to put it up on jack stands and put it in drive and see if the front wheels spin. what do you think?

Ok learned my jeep doesnt like making hard left turns made a hard grinding sound, maybe its rubbing turn hard to the right not a problem at all. disconnected battery and waited 10 seconds started the jeep up and the part time light came back on. next week ordering the transfer case switch and see what happens. anyone for suggestions?

What were you trying to do by disconnecting the battery? If it was resetting the computer, I'm pretty sure you have to have it unhooked for more like an hour. My left tire will rub if I turn too hard to the left also, but that's just because the steering stop isn't adjusted correctly.

seeing if that would reset the switch if it was still in 2wd. someone else said it maybe vacuum hose leaking. gotta do more research on that system, how it works and how to trouble shoot it

[QUOTE/]that was one of the items that were supposed to be changed, maybe its a lemon. maybe its the cap, just was so excited to finally go and try out the 4wheel[/QUOTE]

mine had a crack that they tried epoxying by the bottom hose port. i saw that this was the problem when i bought it and used the overheating as a bargaining point. went straight to the u pull it yard and fixed the problem for 5$ and now it rarely gets hotter than about 160. normal operating temp is just about 140 or 150.

do your research and some wrenchin and you'll never go wrong, also avoid the mechanics (sorry mechanics) as a good manual and a decent tool set will work wonders.
