Not happy at all, got my 1st cherokee, 89 laredo 4x4 4.0 the other day. i wanna take it out 4wheelin. started to head over to the everglades and i noticed it kept getting hotter and hotter. so no test run that day. dropped it off this morning at a mech i always used to get thermostat and a good coolant flush. well i get a call about a lil tube in the water pump thats basically getting ready to disengrate, plus something else about the therm housing. ok go ahead and replace it, not too expensive. call after work to see if it was ready, not ready, called back in ahour, was bled and test driven, started to overheat during test drive, so they wanna make sure theres no air left inside. radiator is fairly new and looks to be in great shape. Jeep gets to spend the night in the mechanic shop. now i am sad because i still havent gotten a chance to take a nice ride w my wife and the jeep. its my first build so i guess i need to get alot more patient.

why you wanna change the power steering pump? alot of the times they come with a pulley already on it... if not when i worked at autozone we kept a electric impact to pull these when they traded the core for a new one... and if not one more time you can rent a pulley or whatever from them... there easy...

well i have no power steering and i already get a great workout at the gym. mechanic confirmed it was power steering pump. on a good not I actually got to test the 4wheel drive it works bad note is the part time light will not go out now. any advice, other than puttin her up on the jack stands and putting it in gear i am sure its out of 4wheel.

ok i drove around in reverse, about a good 100 feet. what else could it be once i put it into 4 wheel it wouldnt come off at all. also i beleive my front right brake is dragging. rigth rim is alot hotter than the others and its got that nice burnt brake smell

ok drove up and down the block in reverse and nada stupid part time light still stays on. wheres the switch or relay for this light. i am guessing that needs to be next in line for trouble shooting
