Exclamation none of my fans work

coming home from work today, the roads were busy and slow. my dash has only idiot lights, no guages. get home i can hear the coolent bubbleing into the overflow, and out of the radiator cap. the mechanicle fan dosnt work, figured that out cause it spins while hot with no resistance. the electric fan never kicked on, and the dash light never cane on. put a tester on it, good ground, and no power with key on at the fan plug in. jumper the fan to the battery it kickes on. jump the leads at the plug on the themp sensor switch on top of the engine, nothing. after that i was too irritated to try testing the wires for ground and power past that point. i have the chilton manuel coming in the mail, but its not here yet.

thanks for the help in advance.

Did you check your fuses also there is problly a inline fuse on the fan sounds like you have a bad power wire / fuse blown you might have to wire the fan direct to ignition if you cannot find the problem that way when you turn your jeep on the fan is on had to do that to a ranger i had good luck

Sorry, I'm not much help on the electrical fan, but I would at least replace the clutch on the mechanical fan. It will probably get you by good enough to drive it while you figure out the electrical fan issue.

You should have a cooling fan relay in the PDC.

The relay gets it's ground from a driver in the JTEC based on A/C inputs and engine coolant temp.

Swap the relay from the A/C compressor and retest.

I wouldn't personally. It would be easier and cheaper (I think) to replace that fan clutch. They are like $30-$40 at AZ. Also, it feels like my mechanical fan pushes much more CFMs than the electric fan, especially when it increases speed with the engine.

ok, i replaced the fan clutch. $50 was the cheapest i could find. tested the relay for the E. fan, it was good, but when i tested the coolent sensor, it was bad, so i replaced that and the radiator cap as well. i still dont know if the fan works, it hasnt been warm enough. it doesnt come on with the a/c, but then again niether does the a/c clutch.
