Do you have a trailer wiring harness that could have shorted wires causing the fuse to blow?

Double check all your fuses. The running lights, tail lights and gauges are all fused on the same circuit.
I had my dash lights go out one night and didn't realize the outside lights were out too until I got pulled over. Cop goes "did you know your taillights are out? no? are your gauges out too? Ok, check your fuses then. they put them on the same one, so if your gauges go dark it means your taillights are out. most people don't know that but I see it all the time."
I think its like a 15 amp fuse or something like that, on my '87 it was in the under dash fuse panel, pretty easy to overlook.

If you don't possess the skills to fix it yourself with some guidance from some well-meaning people, you're probably better off having someone look at it first-hand anyway.

Oh I've got the knowledge to fix it just seems difficult to find wiring diagrams and fusible link locations for some reason, ( I just have my phone to search with) just looking for a bad ground or a grounded/shorted wire among thousands is a pita
