No start, No power
Hey guru's!!!How ya doin....Long time no post huh?Not really. Well this time.....I drive to work shut it off, grab paint, probly took me 3 munutes. I get in my jeep...no power, nothing. I get out, check cables and a few plugs...no problems.I get back in hit the key...she fires right up.I drive 700' shut it off(Ive reached the apertment I have to paint), hit the key...nothing.Its like the battery is disconnected. No lights, no power anywhere. Wait a few minutes and it starts. Any one ran into this before? Any idea which harness, plug or pin could be the issue?I would love to narrow this down. One of the apartments I paint for is in a not so great place and I do not want to have it die there.Any help here is greatly appreciated.

I agree. Start by removing battery cables. Clean them and the battery posts UNTIL THEY ARE SHINY.
After that, engine grounds. More on that below. Good luck!
-----------------------------------------------------
Grounds can be the root cause of many electrical gremlins. Refreshing grounds is NEVER a bad idea!
You can't just check or look at these grounds. You must remove, scrape, clean until shiny the cable/wire ends and whatever they bolt to. The one on the back corner of the head, and where it attaches to the firewall. Scrape the paint from the firewall. Best to replace that woven cable with a #4 or #2 gauge cable. You can attach the one end to the intake manifold if you would like.
Next go over to the engine dipstick tube stud. Remove the nut and clean the wire ends and scrape the block until shiny at the stud. Reattach tightly.
If you are so inclined, add at least a #6 cable from the negative terminal of your battery to one of the bolts on your radiator support. Scrape the paint off first.

Sorry guys,I should have mentioned my most recent thread. Its titled "check engine".I have been trying to figure out why my light was on,yet throwing no codes.I maintain my vehicles meticulously. After spending a day cleaning and greasing all my connections and grounds in the engine bay,I finally got 2 tps codes to come through the scanner. That was yesterday. Today is when the no power issue came into play. I talked to the guys at Unlimited Off Road today, I think Im gonna have them run their scanner through it. Im having way too many electrical issues too close to the same time. Ironicaly a good friend of mine with an xj is having alot of the same issues,Ive been watching him throw money at this part and that part and isnt making any headway. Not sure what else to do!!

Do what was posted, I had the same exact thing happen to me. Clean the battery terminals and battery posts. The check engine light is a different problem. Not un-common to have multiple issues at once.

Is your battery good? You could try tracing the wires from the battery with a test light till you find the problem, but that would only work while your having the no power issue.

Ok.....so.....I replaced the fan relay, the blower motor relay, cleaned and greased every connection in the engine compartment. I had the battery load tested(was good).Replaced the TPS sensor, ground stud on the fender(near battery),replaced the ground strap on the firewall with a 4 gauge wire and copper conections..... Not sure what worked but, the check engine light stays off, it doesnt have a problem with starting after short drives, the blower motor shuts off with the key now and pertty sure my engine electrical is waterproof.Thankes for the insight and suggestion guys.
