Default No start, help please!

hi there new guy here, i am here seeking help for my friend, he has an 88 Cherokee with the 4.0 and today we replaced the negative battery cable because the old one was trashed. but when we go to start it, it does not start, it is getting fuel but it is not getting spark, we replaced the coil, cleaned the contacts on the ignition conrtrol module and on the pick up coil. previous to me replacing the battery cable it ran fine, but it would have trouble starting, the same thing that happens when your battery is dead would happen but now that the cable is replaced it turns over fine but it wont fire can some one help me out?

When you replaced the Ground Cable did you miss one ?? Maybe the engine and or coil is not grounded now. Try running a seperate ground to the chassis and to the Engine block.. Just a Thought !

i am fairly sure i did not miss anything, its just the cable going from the battery strait to the block, there where two black wires with a circular type connector that fit directly over the stud that the negative cable went to, i have no idea what the wires i ground out go to, but they just seem like they needed to go there, because of there proximity to the ground stud on the block, and there color.
