Default No start 91 cherokee

so i was driving and it just died no spark .. long story short the motor was on its way out anyway so i swapped the motor .. along with a new along with a new coil a new cps new plugs cap rotor timed the motor new dist and ecu tested juice when cranked only 3 volts hooked up directly to the batt started right up then shut down what could it be im stumped

Truck wont start has a new coil plugs rotor dist ecu cps i hooked the coil directly to the batt amd it started up when the coils plugged to the harmess it only reads 3 volts

This happened to me, and it turned out to be fused link.

So your Jeep won't start and your battery only reads 3V? Uhhh... Your battery is dead...

I think he is saying that he hotwired it straight from the battery and it starts. But he only gets 3 volts when he reads the harness

There is high resistance somewhere: connector, wiring, ignition switch. It doesn't have a ballast resistor for the ignition does it? Check the connector at the ignition switch see if it's fried. Breakout your DMM and get to work.
