I have an 89 jeep cherokee and im not getting any spark from the coil. I have relaced the cps, pickup coil, ignition coil, ICM and starter relay. when I test for voltage from the coil I am getting a negative voltage reading of about 5.2. Any infor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i have a similar problem in a 99 cherokee that just had the engine swapped. however i get voltage at the coil plug only when i first turn on the key, it then drops off to 0. should i have 12v at the coil plug when i turn on the key? this engine started in the other jeep and this jeeps engine ran till the engine slung a rod. let me know what you find, could this be a grounding issue only? the engine was replaced by a freind while i was out of town so i really dont know if all the grounds were connected right.

Well guys I fixed the problem. I tore out the old cps harness that runs to the ecu and replaced it with a new one. I guess the renix has a problem with the original harness. But now the damn thing runs like a champ. Thanks guys for all the help!
