possible clutch or is it??
hi there im new here and looking forward to being a big part of the forum i have a cherokee 2.5 sport manual on a p plate.
i went out this morning to take kids to school and had a strange issue.
clutch pedal felt ok put it into gear went to bring clutch up and it bit instantly but stiil got down the road ok , then when i went stop i pushed the clutch down but the clutch was still engaged.
had to stall the engine to get it out of gear if i try to put it in gear it wont let me unless i pump the pedal a couple of times then it ok again.
i havent had any tell tale signs (no slipping or anything) it is a hydraulic clutch which i have checked the reservoir and the fluids level is fine and dosent appear to be any fluid leaks.
so my question is am i looking at new clutch or could it be a problem on the hydraulic side like the master or slave cylinder
any help would be great
cheers
