No sound
Just got done dealing with this today in the gf's jeep.
For her me and her dad found out that the radio was bad after 6 hours of trying this and that. In her case a resistor or somethin might have went bad in the radio. But after trying everything we finally bought a new radio.
Do you have power to the speakers? Does another speaker not in your car work?
New radio.

what year is it ? on my 97 i bought it and had no radio in it so i put one in and had no sound after like 5 hours of screwing with it i gave up and brought it to a tech. it had a factory amp that needed power inorder to turn the speakers on. if it has the small tweeters in the door or says infinity anywhere like mine im sure it has a factory amp and might be that thats the first thing i would check for..

Haha. There's not even a car manual in the glove. I'll search online. One thing I noticed is that there is ALOT of wiring underneath the driver console. I know a security system was installed, but there's alot of wires. Never seen so many in my life. I'll check the manuals for now. Just weird sound suddenly doesn't work after I take the vehicle off the lot.

check your fuses on the radio and amp, check your speaker wire, last one that did this to me the radio went bad, new radio and she was musical again.
QUOTE=mlyon83;928341]It's a custom installed sound system. The dealer said it works fine. It turns on, but nothing plays. Weird.[/QUOTE]
Hers would turn on as well but nothing else. Check the fuses. Really sounds like the same problem but could be anything.

Want to hear something funny? When I got my Jeep from a local garage dealer, he installed a stereo on it and when I went home I noticed the front and back speakers were not working. Only the rear left was. So I had a day off and I decided to examine the wiring.
I took all the door panels off and I removed the two screws that were holding the speaker. I found out the wires for the speakers were completely cut. So what I did was, I took two wires and I traced it from the speaker to under the carpet up to the head unit. I found the wiring diagram for the new stereo and found the positive and negative. I took out the old speaker wiring and replaced it with the new one.
Now for the back what I did was first check the wiring for it. Everything looked really fine but it still was not turning on. So I just did a cheap ghetto test by taking my computer speaker and connecting the positive and negative to the jeeps speaker harness. Little to know it worked. So I now knew the rear speaker was blown. I went and replaced that.
Another thing to do is check under the seat and see if it has a factory amp. Those amps need power so maybe the dealer did not connect it.
The small things to do is check the fuses and check the wiring harness in the back of the stereo.
Sorry for it being so long. Just have previous experience with these kinds of stuff. Best of luck.
