Default No power in drive but reverse and low gears are fine

I've got a 97 that when you put in drive it has little to no power unless the gas pedal is held to the floor and it will eventually die if left alone. Reverse does work, but anything forward does not, fluids are good. I did read a thread of a fuse by the TCU but mine is on the driver side and not passenger and I could not find a fuse.
Any help is appreciated thank you in advance.

Can you explain a little more about how it eventually dies if left alone. Can you push the vehicle back and forth when it is in neutral?

How well does it move forward with the lever in 1-2?

When it is running and I put it in D or 1-2 it acts like it wants to go but acts like something is stopping it. About 30 secs after being put in a drive gear it will then start going to low rpm and die unless the gas in pushed. Pushing the vehicle when in N I am not sure and will have to check when I get off work.
I did mess up on the title, 1-2 and D all do the same thing. My bad on that confusion.

The vehicle is new to you and had these problems when you bought it, or did they come on separately?

I've had this Jeep for about a year now but recently did a transmission swap as my pump burnt out on the last one.
It has new torque converter, new front seal, filter and is full of fluid, well to where it needs to be.

I would still like feedback on whether the vehicle can be pushed forward in neutral. Also, did the stalling thing happen before or did it start with the transmission swap as well?

Try checking your fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester? I thought I was having transmission issues sounding similar to yours. Turned out it was just my fuel pump.

If you get a fuel pressure tester that isn't long enough to see from your windshield you may have to do like I did and secure a camera in the engine bay to observe pressure as you go down the road.
