Default No Low Beams

I have a '96 XJ, For about 2 years now i haven't had low beam headlights. All fuses/relays have been checked and both the switch in the column and in the dash have been replaced. I still only have high beams and need the problem fixed and am open to any suggestions as to what the problem may be.

This might be a stupid question but have you tried the bulbs themselves? You just didn't mention it in your post

Yeah, actually since I first lost low beams I've installed HID's and still no low beams.

Do you have fog lights? Remove the fog light relay if you do and try again.

Is the High/Low beam switch you are talking about the one in the steering column ( blinker switch) because if so i replaced it with a brand new one and had the same problem. Also no fog lights.

Yea that was what i was talking about. Are you saying ur jeep was not equipped with fog lights or they arent working either? If its the fog lights arent working either it might be the low beam relay. If not its most likely a wiring issue

Most likely your ignition switch. on the steering column. the high beam is activated by the blinker switch that pushes the rod to the ignition switch witch actually activates the high beams.

I've had to replace the ignition switch a year or so back, would it be a bad switch or a wiring issue with the new one?

Possibly. Did the lows work with the old switch?

Well the lows went out while going down a dirt road one night. Honestly it was long enough ago now I don't remember if the new switch was after the headlights went out.

well i would think if it went out before you put a new switch in, then its wiring. if it was after, then you got a bad switch. just my thoughts.
