No lights
Just bought a 92 Cherokee. Signal lights work, along with interior lights, buzzer, dome lights. No radio, no ac, no fan, no brake lights, no headlights, unless I hold back the dimmer switch, no brake lights. Replaced all bulbs, replaced fuses under dash on left side. Checked all fuses under hood on passenger side and none were blown. Thinking of getting a headlight switch and brake light switch but something tells me that’s not gonna be it.

If physically playing with that swtich makes that kind of difference, I think you need to replace that switch. They are known to get melted inside and do strange things. That's why a lot of folks recommend a headlight harness upgrade.
Everything but the brake lights goes through the ignition switch. I'd suspect the ignition switch is melted or the switch isn't moving back to the run position. Grab a meter and check voltages at the switch to see if it's getting power and that it is feeding power out when the ign is in the run position.

I think what he's saying about "holding back the headlight switch" is the high beam flasher circuit which is hot all the time whether the ignition is on or not. Just like the brakelight circuit.
Update- got my ac and blower working! Bad connection on fuse. checked all fuse box fuse holders and the is power going to every fuse. Pulled headlight switch and I have power going to it. It is not melted but it doesn’t look very good, as it’s corroded. Have a headlight switch and ignition switch coming.

Update 2: installed headlight switch and recovered my headlights, instrument lights, and running lights. Still no brake lights. Power going to brake light switch. No continuity in any legs of brake light switch

Update 3: installed ignition switch and brake light switch and now I have everything except signal light indicator lights in my dash. I am gonna pull the instrument cluster next and see if the bulbs are getting power. If not I am thinking I will have to replace the signal light switch. I hope not, really don’t want to tackle that one since I don’t have the pullers I would need.

You can rent a lot of tools at Autozone. Basically, you buy the tool, and take it back for a full refund. Or keep it, your choice. I think Advance has the same program. Call the store and see if they have the puller If you need to go that route, that is. I think your plan is good. If the switch were bad, I would not expect the signals to work at all. Since they do, checking the bulbs is the next step.
