Okay, so I recently had a shop replace the heater core and ac evaporator. I was wondering if they didn't put foam around the heater core would that affect how hot the heat gets in my vehicle?
The temp on the dash stays around 190/210 maybe more like 200/210 so that's good.
Thermostat, Heater core are good. All the pipes for the coolant are good.
Both pipes that go to the heater core are hot.
All the doors for the HVAC box are good.
I put a periscope camera into the ac evaporator drain tube and it looks like the shop that replaced my ac evaporator and heater core used very thin foam.
I am wonder if they also used this thin foam on my heater core it looks like it w
ould let are go above and below and on the sides around the heater core not through it.
Will this affect my temperature that comes through my vents?
If this does then this really sucks.
Here is an image of someone I watched on YouTube that has very thick foam around their heater core whey they replaced it.
Think I found my issue: Note: this is at my max heat setting.
I believe that plastic piece laying down blocking the blend door is this piece I found in a YouTube video: Note: this is the plastic piece blocking the blend door.
The shop that I had replace my heater core and ac evaporator definitely placed that piece on the wrong side in the box. This sucks.
Here's a couple more images: MAX AC MAX Heat, not closing off the ac evaporator and causing my vents to blow colder air.
That periscope camera came in handy. I pulled out the radio and turned my defroster setting on opening up the top door into the HVAC box. Put my periscope camera down into that door allowing me to see the heater core on the left, ac evaporator further into the box and blend door.
No vacuum leaks correct?
I can tell you my xj was getting cold with little heat coming out of the vents to get, straight at me and I had several dried out rubber fittings under hood, fire wall.
