Default Cold air coming from below glove box

I'm in the process of trying to fix an issue with the heating system. Whenever I turn on the heat, icy cold air blasts from below the glove box. I see a hole when I look under there, and that's where its coming from. I was wondering if anyone knows what is supposed to go on that hole? Thanks

That's where the blower motor resistor is supposed to go. Let me see if I can find a pic with it in place. Does your fan only work on high (speed 4)?

Found some pics from when I did my heater core.

This is what's supposed to be screwed into that hole:

And here's what it looks like with it in place (HVAC box removed):

Ok, so I got the blower motor resistor, but now I've got a bunch of wires and no idea which ones go where. Any ideas?

Yeah, I was wondering about that and was expecting to see a loose connector tucked up in there somewhere. I've got a '98 as well, so thing should be the same (or at least were the same before someone messed yours up). Here are a few pictures that might be of help. You may need to trace those cut wires back to the big green connector to undo what someone hacked up before.

Also, is your heater blend door actuated by cable or stepper motor?

Somebody got creative instead of replacing the resistor pack. Rock Auto might carry a new connector that you can splice back in. Looks like the wires you want are right above the red circle in your first picture.
