Default A/C core as heater core?

Any reason you cant daisy chain the A/C core in the heater box with the heater core to increase heat output asuming you never want A/C again?

Yes! More of a theoretical question, and a possible solution for someone who has a bad core and doesnt want to pull the whole dash out to fix it. Just use the ac core instead.

That's a pretty nifty idea. Are the cores the same size between them?

This wouldn't work for me because both my cores are leaking

Theyre close, i believe the ac core is a tad smaller. Just a thought, never heard of anyone trying it.

AC internal ports are much much smaller... would clog up in a day... and wouldnt hardly get hot anyway... if the AC dont work already then changing the heat core would be easy... do it right...

I think you're wrong, I bet it would work just fine. I am pulling my dash out to replace my core, just suggesting a solution for those who cant do it themselves and dont want to pay a shop upwards of $600 for a core if they dont have the money. I will be daisy chaining my new core with the ac core to see if I get more heat. If it clogs, oh well I will unhook it and report.

As long as it doesn't bottleneck the rest of the cooling system, it should be fine. Interested to see how you make out with this, though!

Well I figured since im doing a core anyway, might as well expiriment a little. And having a few people so eager to shoot down this idea without any thought tells me nobody has tried it. Maybe its part of some secret coverup by the government to restrict how much heat we can have! Baloney aside, plan on the core swap tomorrow, and will hook up the ac core as well and report after a few days.
