Just put a radio in my 95 XJ. Now I have no dash lights. Everything else works, including tail lights. I have no power to fuse 19. If I jump power to it the lights come right on. Just a coincidence and I need a new headlight switch?

Not a coincidence.
Circuit is shared, dash lights and radio illumination. Check for correct wire connection at radio harness. Wire is light blue-red stripe.

Okay, because I changed from one aftermarket to another and had them before. So if the radio has no Illumination wire what do I wire it to?

Only if the radio has dedicated wire for dimming its light, controlled by headlight switch. Otherwise cap it off and do not use it.
I am guessing wire is connected to something that is causing interference with circuit. Rule that out first

Wire wasn't connected at all. Have it connected to acc red wire now, and have lights with the key on. But that's not correct. So I need to figure out which to connect to.

I'm really thinking it's the headlight switch. Only way to get lights is to give the orange wire power, but doesn't dim from the switch. No blown fuses.

Feeding power to orange is bypassing dimmer. Check plug to headlight switch also when replacing switch....https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f89/no...2/#post3215880
