Default No Crank/No Start

I'm having a no crank/no start issue with the 4.0L. Two days ago it I replaced the oil pressure sending unit and the jeep started up and ran fine afterwards. Then drove it to a small family function and upon leaving I turned the key in the ignition and entire system died. I was able to be jumped and drove home. Yesterday I cleaned the battery contacts and checked the battery and everything looked good. Tried starting it up and had the same issue except this time we were not able to jump it. Used an external battery charger to charge it and had power to the electronics inside the vehicle (radio, dome lights, ect). When attempting to start the car again everything died and could not get power into the cabin again. Where do I go from here?

Not to my knowledge, but I'll check them when I get home today. Do you have any other ideas?

How old is your starter? If it's not cranking that could be your problem - or the relay. I was leaving a job a few months back and my XJ wouldn't crank. Next day I picked up a new starter and relay and replaced the old ones - happy ending.

There are some good threads on the No Crank/start issue. Best to do a systematic approach, going over the different components involved in this (like a no spark situation for instance). See if those help, will also rule out causes along the way. You should be able to find them through search. Let us known how you go.

Default Not a starter issue

unlikely a starter issue, my starter just went out, the entire time I still had cabin power, even after attempting to start.

My dad and I were stumped so we took it to a garage and they replaced the negative cable end by the battery terminal. Did anyone see that coming?

Yep, that's the first thing you clean/ replace when you loose total cabin power with a charged battery and no solonoid/ starter function

Well, that is the first thing we did do; clean the terminals and the connections to the battery. I guess there's not much you can do when there are problems with the wires.

Interesting, its not normal for it to be the wire gone bad, normally its just the terminal... The only time I've seen any vehicle that had the wiring go it was very apparent bc it was clearly chewed up and missing the shielding. Hmmm well glad you got it fixed up

That could be. It's spent its entire life in northern Kentucky and just recently made the move to Wisconsin. It could also be dust and dirt build up from trails.
