Yo guys, problem. This is only when I throw gas in the tank. The engine won't start when in park on low and won't start on anything when almost empty. I'm not sure at all?

From Joe Peters and well stated. Sounds harsh but just makes sense:
"Let’s play a game.

You pretend that you are the only one that knows what year/engine/model, etc that you are asking about.

We will all pretend you never asked a question until you provide at least the bare minimum of information about your vehicle".

Its a 93 Jeep cherokee, 4.0 I6, automatic transmission. When the gas tank is low the engine will start in N and when, almost empty won't stay in either P or N right away. This only occurs when fuel is added.

If you hold the key over, and jiggle the shifter in park or neutral and it starts, it's your NSS. http://bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-neut...ty-switch-nss/

Just a coincidence it stuck when it did is my thought. There is no way your starting system cares how much fuel you have.

And X2. All posters should post what they are posting about.

Good luck, let us know?

Won't start or won't crank? If it won't crank, try what DFlintstone suggests.

I've been thinking its the NSS, but this thing with the fuel has got me. It does this like clock work, I put gas in the tank when its low and no power to the starting system.

This happens with my rig and its time to lean the NSS unit. The link DFlintstone provided is awesome, just follow it and good luck.

I (we), believe you! Just, it's GOT to be coincidence.

Mine always works on a cold start up because when I put it in park warm the night before the NSS settled right. If I move it cold and shut it down, when I go to start usually the NSS will stick and not make contact. Then need to hold the key over with my right hand and push the shifter forward with my left to get contact. It's been that way for about 10 years. Give her a giggle and she'll make you happy, I'd bet. The gas station is close enough that you are not warmed up when you fill it, and you fill up heading out, cold?
