I have a no bus error on my jeep xj 1999, the check engine, airbag and gauges also pop up when it happens
The basics- Yes i’ve tried plugging cluster cleaning it and plugs, banging on it, moving connection, dielectric grease, tried cleaning grounds under engine but no fix
NOTE-
​​​​​​—jeep has 190k, doors were off when i bought it, connected doors and wired them up, jeep for whatever reason has a push start, directly from the starter so you still need key to start it, figured hey it works don’t question if for now, gauges worked when and b4 i bought jeep
—When the no bus happens the jeep sometimes runs rough, one back window rolls down but not up (goes away after no bus is gone), stalls sometimes when i use brakes, or sometimes some of the gauges work but no bus, Jeep never fails to start though when no bus happens, it’s a weird completely random electrical problem
—Is used as a woods jeep
—Fuel gauge works when car is running

I tried to get the new plug from the dealer but it is discontinued and they don’t sell it anymore
Had people from the dealer and mechanics try to fix it but can’t figure problem out, here’s what they did
-Pulled cluster and cleaned, checked grounds, check airbag grounds, unplugged airbag, unplugged tcm, check connections, inspected wiring from everything

None of this fixed it, but afterwards i let the jeep sit (a week) and the gauges came back to life and everything worked again
I thought hey whatever its fixed but a week after they went out again, first the tach and speedo then everything dropped

-Repeated all of this again bc it sounded like ground issue but no fix

Currently the jeep fuel guage works, the battery and oil pressure slightly want to work but don’t only happens when the car is actually running if i turn the key nothing works

I think it may be the pcm but want some extra ideas b4 i try i’m kind of lost because everything you read says “grounds” or “connector”

low voltage? Looks like maybe the battery gauge is working unless it always shows voltage when off (bad gauge). Good luck on this...mine did it this morning but cranked up and idle fine just no gauges and showed No Bus.I just backed up and hit a bump hard and everything started working as it should so guess mine maybe the connectors.
