No backup lights

No backup lights

So as I see, there are many odd ball solutions to the smallest issues. Anybody know of a reason why my backup lights don't work? Bulbs are good and all fuses are good that I've seen

Neutral safety switch (NSS) out of adjustment or dirty. Lots and lots of threads on here about that pesky part. Do a search and you'll have all kinds of info on how to check it, clean it, adjust it and replace it if necessary. Very common maintenance item on XJ's.

Check for current at both sides of trans fuse.

No backup lights

X2 on NSS. mine was bad, only causing my reverse lights to not work. I replaced it and kept the old for a spare.

I cleaned (carefully!) my nss and it got my reverse lights working.

Check the "trans" fuse first.

ok, just checked the fuse, its good. i will try to crawl under there tomorrow afternoon after work and see if i can pull and clean the NSS.

You might try just adjusting it....
