I sooooooooooooo wanna do it but i dont know if the 4.0 could do it, or if i could only do it in 3rd or 4th, I dont know much about it, but i think a 50 shot would be ok. let me know what you think, trust me i wont be offended.

waste of time and money. the 4.0 is barely suitable for highway driving. builds too much pressure thats why all of our valve cover gaskets blow...

Kinda like the guy that wants to drift in his XJ. Get the right car for that type of thing. IMO, I have 35x15 TSL's. 50 shot for mine would result in broken shaft, DS or total engine loss

Something else will blow before the engine does. Transmission is probably first. I promise there would be no point to it, unless you're racing other cherokees. They do 17's in the quarter mile; with nitrous you might get into the 16s... and beat minivans.

Save the money you'd spend on the nitrous kit and buy a car that's fast to begin with (IE not a honda!). 3rd gen trans-ams and camaros are dirt cheap now, being that most of them are at the bottom of the blue book rating age. That'll be the quickest way to gain 3 seconds in the 1/4 mile, granted you get a 350 model.

Not to step on toes but in your Signature, your running a AW4 as am I, your ever really hear anyone cry about them going out. I think its the only thing driveline wise that will handle 35"+ tires with no modifications

Faster and Cherokee should not be in the same sentence.

i could see it if you put the time into setting your jeeps up, yea it would be nice to have when you know your not going to get throw a hole to get a last ditch effort. but see the point my 70 nove ran two t4 trubos, pushing 15bl a pic and i was out running car with two stage nos systems. if you want more power pull a trany form the junk yard and have it regear and re gear you rear end

my friend has a toy that he as stripped down has taken over 400bls off it. put an alum 302 set up with a 100 shot, he tryings to fly over top of the mud holes. it funny as hell, i really need to find my cam. there is one mud hole he get 2/3 throw and the power falls off and he sinks deeper.

Very true. I guess I just assumed bad news from them since they burn fluid a lot more often... nothing that can't be solved with a cooler though.

I have been using Nitrous long before those **** in the ricers came along and used it on everything from a 454 BB to a 120 HP Shovelhead. The only reason it is not a good idea (and I mean the only reason cause Nitrous is gods gift to the engine) is cause it really only works at wide open throttle and XJ's are not really used in many situations were WOT is needed. Other than that if you know what you are doing and use a wet kit anything under 100 shot on a engine in decent condition will not hurt it just give it power.

The AW4 has a 450lb-ft torque rating... Theyre actually a pretty strong trans, just ask the people with suped up Toyotas that run them.

Put the nitrous on it. Just send us a pic of the oil pan the moment you pull it from the block. It will be a treasure chest full of "shiny" surprises.
