Talking Newbie Here

Hello Everyone!

This is my first forum membership so im new to all this stuff.

I just purchased a cherokee for $2500
Here is what I know about it

1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4 Door
4.0 High Output with 137,000 miles
Command-Trac Transfer Case
Automatic
Power Windows and Locks
Paint : PJV (Citron Green i think)
Had Running Boards, but i removed them. Dont know if they were stock.
No mechanical problems that i know of, all fluids are good and no problems in operation and runs like a scared rabbit.

Did i overpay, and where can i find more about what i can do with it.

Plans!

I dont have a really well paying job or anything but i would still like to do some modifications el cheapo.

3" add a leaf and coil spacer combo
2" wheel spacers
Rough County Nitro 9000 Shocks
Custom made and powdercoated roof rack
Powdercoat Rims
Brush Guard
Fog Lights

Ambitious I know, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading!

Welcome aboard brother. Check out the stickys at the top. There's one called budget builds. What junkyard parts fit the xj.... might take a week to read but you will find everything you're looking for and more!

I don't think that you've over paid if its in good mechanical and cosmetic condition. I've seen asking prices of double that from dealers. That mileage is low for the year.

Your color is an odd one and I don't recall when the last time was that I saw it. There were a few other colors that they didn't sell a lot of, and one was Lapis, although I liked it. I think there was an odd yellow and a mango looking color as well, but like I say, they're pretty uncommon.

Where in Va?

Welcome and 3 inch you dont need brake lines or any of that but you may need depending on the truck there all slightly different a track bar and if you get vibrations while driving you may need a transfer case and you will need shocks for 3 inches
