Default Newb trans fluid question... Pretty simple I hope

I did a quick search but didn't find an exact answer for this

I just started the 3 step process of draining the transmission pan and refilling, driving for a day, drain and fill again, drive for a day, and this time drop the pan and change the filter, fill it up and call it good.

So far everything is golden, old fluid wasn't too discolored so I'm happy.

My question is this:
I also drained and filled the transfer case and the t-case seems to be sealed and independent of the transmission as far as the fluid goes. Saying that, is it safe to say the fluid exchange I did today on just the t-case doesnt need to be done again tomorrow when i do the transmission again?
Probably a dumb question but I'm completely new to 4x4's, let alone jeeps (this being my first one) so I've never worked with a transfer case which is why I'm asking

Unless it's radically different from my '95 auto...the T-case is separate from the trans fluid. I had to swap the t-case...draining it gets ALMOST all of the fluid out through the drain hole (not quite all...if you tip the 'empty' t-case the wrong way, it will leak out the output areas). You should be fine with the one swap (unless it was REALLY dirty).

Transfer case fluid should be changed every 30K miles. Yes, it is a separate unit from the transmission.

I was planning on just dropping the pan, changing filter and filling new fluid. I dont know how I'd never heard of the 3 step method you were talking about before but that sounds like it is a better way to go, isnt it?

Doing this gets the new fluid to pull anything into the old filter, to then have new filter and new fluid after day 3 right?

I like the 3-step plan to get more new fluid circulating, but (depending on how much your drive it), I think I'd drive the vehicle for 5-7 days after step 1. Let the new(er) fluid and its detergent qualities work for a little while.

Thats pretty much the idea. It is also supposed to help flush out more of the old fluid still in places like torque converter and cooler and other places that draining the pan doesn't get.

Luckily I haven't had a clear enough day to even do "step 2" so it looks like its going to be about 5 days before i get there anyway, but I'll remember that for next time.
