I got the tank off today, had to cut the fuel tubes from the inlet to get it off. After i got the pump out of the tank, it seems like the end of the pump should be connected to something? Felt a small plastic hole inside the tank. Or should the pump just lay in the tank?

Alright - a little update.
I found out that my rear axle is a Dana 35, which you all probably knew. Is there a guaranteed size for the rear brake shoes? there are 10" 1/2 and 3/4 - don't know which to order.
Also, I "dropped" the fueltank it was leaking pretty bad, the right strap was the only thing holding it from just spilling everything on the floor. But, one of the bolts holding the straps came loose - I figure I'll just replace both of them (better to be safe) but where are they able to be bought? Heard a bit that they are quite expensive.
Also, the fuel pump, is sitting at the front of the tank from what I can see - How to you remove it? it has a few cables and hoses going into it and I dont wanna remove them.
That's it for now.

Have had a few concerns with the removal of my fuel pump. Firstly the locking ring on the outside was completely rusted as well as any O-ring present, I just twisted it off.
Secondly the end of the pump seems to have a little nozzle to input something and i've found a plastic tube of somekind with a little hole at the bottom of the tank - is the pump supposed to fit in that hole or do I just put the pump back in and screw it all together?
Are there any other parts that should be changed when removing the pump? o-rings, tubes etc?
Also, seeing as most things on this jeep have been on since stock, would it be a good idea to get a new pump? Seeing as i've had some trouble with the idle.

There's a black piece of metal, quite long that goes along the whole of the underside of the grill and around the edges of each of the headlights. It is between the bumper and the grill. That part has completely rusted off for me. Is that a seperate piece or is a new "holder" for the grill, lights etc needed to replace it? Can't seem to find that part.

I've still not been able to get my U bolts off even though i've heated it up with my blowtorch which should be able to burn up to 1800 C. I realized something that might've put pressure on them though...Since the rear end of the car is on jackstands and the rear axle isn't on any kind of support, should I lift up one of the springs to take some pressure of? Or will that probably do nothing?
