Question new radiator with auto trans hook-ups 5spd

Okay this is probably a wetoddid question but here goes...

Do the automatic trans cooler lines come plugged? because i just pulled it out the box and it had a blue plastic threaded cap on the top one and a rubber nipple over the bottom one? seems odd to me.

the radiator i bought was the spectra oe replacement for a 92 xj from vatozone for my 88 xj because im converting to an open cooling system

they come just like that new. it may be used in a 5 speed or an auto. if it's in a 5 speed, leave them plugged.

changing to the open syste will make your cooling sysyem much more reliable ,some people have used the renix pressure tank as the over flo bottle . As for fixing over heating issue it depends on what were the issues i made a short thread on doing this change...https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/ren...d-shift-63044/

you can definitely trust those plugs...there is a seperate cooler inside the radiator that is piped to those holes on the radiator. in the event that coolant leaks out of them, the radiator is shot.

i also have another question.... can i wire an electric fan override on the old radiators temp sensor wires? (i'm assuming thats what this plug kinda dangling by my airbox was used for... not exactly sure old garbage rad didnt have a temp switch in it?) i'll try to edit tomorrow with a pic or the colors of the wires.

http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/..._Diagnosis.htmi think if you put a jumper wire in between 1 and 4 on the cooling fan relay it will run when the keys on

you run your a/c while wheeling?! i dont like the added stress it puts on my motor, at some point i'd actually like to disconnect mine and run the idler pulley from a 91 without a/c
