Default new and need some insight.

So Im a new jeep guy as of about 2 weeks ago. I hate that my first post is for help but need some help from those who know.
I just bought a 97 xj. The a/c blows strong and extremely cold but there is a rediculous squeel when it is on until Im going about 30+ mph and then it stops. It sounds similiar to when a water pump goes out. If I turn the a.c off the sound goes away.

I sprayed the fan with lube and the sound went away, but the fan is all plastic??? and this sounds like bearings going out.
So bottom line...a/c fan or blower motor? What does the blower motor sound like when bad?
Thanks from Socal

Sounds like the serpentine belt. The AC compressor puts extra drag on it, and when they slip, it's one of the loudest most annoying screeches imaginable. The adjustment is with the power steering pump. Snug it up a bit and it should go away.

Probably a belt, try snug it up, if you can't you might need a new belt

Belt is slipping.

Check the tensioner, maybe replace the belt. It may be stretched or have damage to the ribs on the underside causing it to slip.
