Just replaced the headlights on my 2000 XJ. I used the Napa/Wagners H6054. The prongs on the new headlights are a little longer than the originals, leaving them slightly exposed. Should I pull them back out of the housing and electrical tape them or will they be fine? Thanks in advance!

 

as long as nothing can fall across them and short them out they will be fine. There is usually a rubber boot around the connector.

 

Do a supplemental headlamp harness while you're at it.
