Default New doors

Bought a pair of front 97-01 doors to put on my Jeep before it gets sent off to the body shop.

My stock 96 Doors are manual windows and locks, so what will I need to do to hook up the power locks and windows on the new doors? are the wiring harnesses already in my Jeep? Or do i need to make my own? I cut from the connectors so I have plenty of wires to splice and solder in.

Im not 100% sure but in my experience with vehicle wiring they do usually use pretty much the same harness on the vehicles. Check your fuse block for PWR WDO or something similar and if you see wiring to that slot then its a good chance that the harness is made up for it already but not originally in use on your jeep.
I did an interior swap on a car that had manual seats from a car with power seats and the wiring was there already and worked.
Again not 100% sure but its an easy check.
Of course with everybody getting cheap these days they may not do things that way any more just to try to save some money on wiring.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna pull the kick panels and see if I can find anything to tap into

You may not need to tap into anything. Is there any wiring going into the door as it is now?

Sounds like a lot more work then.Doable though if you want power windows and locks though.Clip the connectors from the donor vehicle and make your own harness for it.

Not sure about your 96 but I just purchased a 98 2 door xj manual windows & locks & while working on it noticed I have what appears to be the harness running into doors on both sides for power options. I just changed instrument cluster from an idiot light with no tach to a gauge style with tach & it was a simple plug in an all features work.

I like your thinking
I got the connectors off an XJ at the Junkyard over the weekend and I'm doing just as you said! haha

The only harness running into mine are the speaker wires. According to an article JP magazine did, I gotta make my own harness and tap into something.

I did the cluster swap on my XJ last year and yeah the only things that didnt work were the water temp and oil pressure. I just went to autozone, bought new sending units, and it was plug n play!
