I don't know about bump, but if you have the stock stereo, that's why you are getting crappy sound. If you change out to a nice head unit that pushes a solid 20 watts rms per channel, your stock speakers will sound MUCH better. That's where I would start. You'd be surprised.

Definitely get a new head unit first. That is the backbone of the system. Look on www.onlinecarstereo.com for some really good deals. This one looks like a pretty good deal. 4x22 RMS plus front aux input.

x4 lol. Crutchfield.com is a great website and they'll include the wiring harness necessary to do a proper job for free. Very reasonable prices of course

Are you putting subs in, too?
I got a decent JVC deck w. CD, MP3, aux, etc for $70 at Best Buy. Then added some basic Pioneer 5 1/4" speakers and it sounds worlds better. The stock system sucks.

a new deck will blow up your stock speakers... new speakers will sound like crap with a stock deck. either way, itll sound like poopoo.

get a good deck, an amp to power the 4 door speakers, and another amp to power 2 10s and youll be set.

The junkyard here charges a flat $6 per speaker so I`ve upgraded all mine to nice ones cheaply..Have 2 100watt Pioneers in the front door and 2 JBL 150watts in the back..Not bad for $24 I got a little amp which fits nicely right under the back seat on the drivers side to power them..The biggest problem was running all new speaker wire from the in-dash CD player back to the amp and then from the amp out to all the speakers in the front door and back hatch and keeping it all out of sight...But worth it as I can drive 300 miles on any given Saturday or Sunday and need my music
