I went to install new (used) stock Cherokee springs into my Cherokee & discovered a new problem. I was well aware that my passenger side coil spring was broken. It was broken into 4 pieces, rather than 2 like I originally thought, & the spring perch is rusted off.

I have decided to replace both my front axle & rear axle, bastard pack the back, as my leafs are nearly inverted & probably buy a lift kit with front springs.

Anyways, my question is, what axle ratio should I use to replace the stock 3.07 30 & 35? I would like to get a high pinion new D30. & it seems it would be easiest to buy matching axles from an auto XJ.

I guess what I'm trying to ask, is what would the best gear ratio, besides 3.05 be to add under my Jeep? 3.54 or 3.73??

well i did the same thing but junked the vac front axle and swapped out the rear for a 44 but anyways i used 355 axles for my 32's at the time and they worked fine. for 33's you will need 411's or 5th will be to tall
