need quick help 96 xj rough idle

Default need quick help 96 xj rough idle. Youtube video inside.

Friend just put new headgasket in and it has really bad idle. Any ideas? New Cap and Rotor as well.

The only two that can really be switched are 1&2. Rest you can tell where they go as to where they come out the loom, wire length, & where they want to good. Have you tried switching 1 & 2?

Along with what was mentioned above, I'd double check the spark plug wires for correct firing order, and if those two check out start popping out some plugs and check the condition and gap of them.

Also possible that a few plug wires are bad..?

When changing a cap and rotor, I usually do plug wires and plugs as the condition of all the components are not too far off from eachother.

yhe fireing order in the haynes manual is incorrect if thats the manual your using

Have him check his 3 grounds on passenger side back valve cover area. They act like they wanna go on valve cover stub. But ground them to block & not valve cover stud. Stud might have silicone on threads preventing good ground. Might be worth looking at.

that is also wrong the screw in the dist is located in the wrong spot most people go by the screw as areference this show proper screw location

Firing order is correct. MAP sensor is hooked up.
